To the lady who Assaulted me on the "A" Train
|
I need to stop staring at people.
I find myself caught in some deep thought
process, (i.e.: solving the problem of third world
debt, what should I eat for dinner, starting a
business, how many blueberry Juicy Licorice
sticks can I possibly consume before faced with
a permanently stained blue tongue or liver, when
can I go to the gym, how to pay for Grad. School,
He loves me he loves me not, oh wait he likes
me he likes me not,)
While I ponder these along with the meaning of
human existence, my gaze tends to fall on
people's faces, oops.

Sometimes I'm really working on theses issues and am
staring at these poor people forever. Meanwhile they
are thinking
"What the hell is she looking at? Do I have something
on my face! Does she like me? Is she mentally ill?"
Until they reach a decision that I have gone pass the
time limit allotted to a momentary New York glance and
decide to actively detour my gaze.
This has resulted in many extreme conversations,
nasty pick-ups and startling insults. None of which I
enter the train or park looking to have.
I apologize to all those I have insulted by my momentary
comma on you face. And to the lady on the A train who
said that's enough, got up and tried to assault me. I am
incredibly sorry I didn't mean to stare so long, and I
wasn't talking to "Aliens on planet Zore" I was trying to
memorize Lines from a play. So if we meat again, and I
happen to stare too long, please take the metal out of
your bag before you hit me with it, cause I'm an actress
and bruises don't look pretty on stage.
